FIRE
Fire is a natural part of Idaho’s landscapes, but an increase in fire size and severity can lead to novel ecosystems dominated by non-native plants, like cheatgrass. The Valley Fire of October, 2024 reminded us that fire not only impacts landscapes and wildlife, it can also impact our communities. We will hear from three individuals working on restoring the landscape the Valley Fire burnt: Brynne Lazarus from the US Geologic Survey, Ann Moser of Idaho Fish and Game, and Karie Pappani with the Harris Ranch Wildlife Mitigation Association. We’ll learn about restoration activities occurring within the burn perimeter and also discuss how we, as a community, can be better prepared for the next fire.
$10 each week
