SPEAKERS:
Suzanne C. Rainville, Forest Supervisor on the Payette National Forest
Gary Brown, Payette NF Fire and Aviation
Mark Larson, State Fire Marshall
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Large areas of Idaho forest and range burned in 2007. Areas much larger than the average. One forest effected was the Payette National Forest. In an average year about 56,000 acres are estimated to burn, however, in 2007 more than 470,000 acres burned. The effect of this and other fires on communities was the topic of news for weeks through the long fire season.
Please join us to hear from three leaders about what the 2007 fire season meant to Idahoans. Suzanne C. Rainville and Gary Brown, Payette NF Fire and Aviation, will reflect on the 2007 fire season and what it meant to the Payette NF. Mark Larson, will discuss the community and insurance industry response to the statewide 2007 fires.
