Three Ranchers will describe how they are using innovative approaches to raise organic lamb for local markets, care for and share public lands with recreationist, and practice holistic management techniques. These land and livestock managers are finding new ways to adapt to the fast-changing economic and environmental challenges of ranching in the 21st Century. The speakers are profiled on a new web site called "Life on the Range" (www.lifeontherange.org), produced by the Idaho Rangeland Resource Commission.

John Noh
Owner of the Noh Sheep Company in Kimberly, Idaho, practices rest-rotation grazing in the "South Hills" of the Sawtooth National Forest and grazes sheep in the heart of a popular recreation area.
Cheryl Bennett
Sales director for Lava Lake Ranch, is actively involved in marketing certified organic grass-fed lamb to local farmers markets and restaurants in southern Idaho. Lava Lake Ranch also has been recognized for outstanding stewardship by the U.S. Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Chris Black
A fourth-generation Bruneau rancher, received the BLM's national stewardship award in 2008 for using innovative management techniques to restore riparian areas and nurture native bunchgrass vegetation in the Owyhee Plateau.
